Describe an Egg

The egg has been the topic of discussion in many debates. It would be about “ what came first, the egg or the chicken” etc. But we can agree for many reasons, the egg is the pinnacle to civilization itself.

For many mammals their offspring hatch when the female animal lays eggs. A common example would be the chicken. Its offspring, the chick or hatchlings, come out of the eggs the chicken hatches. The type of eggs are different with each mammal. Fish eggs are often small while bird eggs vary from size and reptiles like snake eggs are very big. Even humans have eggs as well but unlike other mammals, female humans store their egg cells in the ovary. Without eggs, the animal populations and human civilization would never happen in the first place.

The egg is also used for food. There are three parts: the shell, egg yolk which is the yellow part, and egg whites. The shell is fragile and breaks easily. It’s optional to mix both the egg yolks and whites or use them separately but it doesn’t have a smell. It does however contain nutritional values which is why eggs are consumed in large portions daily. It has become a staple in human life. Without it, it can have an effect on certain areas of the world that rely heavily on eggs for their daily diets.

The egg has different importances whether it be reproduction or food. But we can all agree on one thing: the egg is important to humans and animals alike.
